This post is written by Jen Weant. You can read more of her story here. When they tell you becoming a parent changes everything, they are telling the truth! Almost 4 years ago, we welcomed our sweet little one into our family. After years of waiting expectantly, we adopted Parker and he has brought so … Continue reading Dear Moms, What You Do Matters
It was a test, and it was a test I was failing. If I thought I was being tested before, it was nothing compared to what was coming. A few months ago, I put in a proposal for an online conference for moms for a message I wante to share on how to be a … Continue reading New Year, New Beginnings
Santa is a struggle at our house. We don't teach our children about the commercialized Santa Clause. However, in the world we live in, Santa is everywhere. So we need to talk about him. The day after Christmas, we were talking about the North Pole, and Charlie told me that Santa lived there. I responded … Continue reading My Finest Mommy Moment
My husband called me out on it, more than once, I might add. I haven't really been in the Christmas spirit. My nights are usually filled with watching Hallmark Christmas movies, and I can't even get through one with my favorite Hallmark actress, and actor (Torrey Devitto... also known as crazy nanny Carrie, and Chad Michael Murray. Yes I am a One Tree Hill fan). In a way I feel weary...
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27 God is faithful. He is good. He is love. Our adoption story is one filled with these truths. We are all adopted into God’s kingdom. The Gospel is filled with this beautiful truth and message of … Continue reading Waiting Expectantly
It has been awhile since I thought of the baby we lost, but today in church tears streamed down my face. I cried for the love I have for my children, all of my children. Even the little one that would have turned one this month, the one who resembled Charlie when I saw her … Continue reading What I Am Remembering On Mother’s Day
Can I be honest with you? In regards to following where God leads, I miss the mark. There are so many time that I don’t listen to His still small whisper, and go on with my day as if His voice didn’t exist. However, sometimes I listen, and when I do, He moves. The day … Continue reading The People We Meet Along The Way
Charlie wasn't listening. It happens more often when he doesn't get a good nights sleep, and Monday night he didn't get a good nights sleep. Tuesday night brought quite a bit of fussiness from him mixed with a lot of not listening. Bed time wasn't going well. I wanted him to put on his pajamas, … Continue reading The Word That Changed Everything
What does is feel like when it is well with your soul? The question was asked as Olivia was sleeping in my arms. Sleep. That is something that I feel like I need more of these days. Olivia is usually a pretty good sleeper, but this week she must have been going through a growth spurt because she has been up a lot at night to nurse. And that has made me tired. The other day I was on a call with a co-worker and when we finished she asked to speak to someone else. So, I put the phone on hold, but never told the other person to pick up the phone. Imagine my surprise when she came out of her office, but the phone was still on hold! Then later that day, I drove right past the exit (and right into the no exit zone) I needed to get off to get the littles from daycare. When I am tired I don’t think straight. I feel weak, and like in a moment I will stumble… or drive right past the exit I am supposed to get off.
